About

Tasneem Bhopalwala

Founder of Sarvatra Yoga. Yoga teacher, nutritionist and host of the Saath podcast. Teaching one body at a time for more than fifteen years.

Her story

From banking to the body.

Before yoga, Tasneem worked as an investment banker and a corporate trainer. She left that world to teach, and has since guided more than two thousand students.

Almost all of them came through word of mouth. She teaches in her students' homes, at their time, because the hour saved on travel is the hour that becomes practice.

She is a Lion of the Lions Club of Mumbai Carter Road, and takes her free OJAS programme into clubs and communities across the city.

How she teaches

Seven pillars, one thread.

Good health was never one thing. Tasneem teaches all seven pillars together, and listens to the thread that runs through them: your gut.

1

What You Eat

The material your body is rebuilt from.

2

Activity and Movement

Muscle is independence. A body that moves, lives.

3

How You Eat

The hour, the order, the speed and the calm.

4

Sleep

The hours when the body repairs what the day used up.

5

Emotions and the Mind

What worry does to the shoulders, the stomach and the night.

6

Environment

The home, the kitchen and the people around you.

7

Massage

Your own hands, on your own body.

∞

And your gut

The thread through all seven. Every one of them arrives there.

What she believes

Nothing is taken away

The question is not what you must give up. It is what your body is asking you to give her.

One kept habit

One kept habit beats seven forgotten ones, every single time.

Beside your doctor

Sarvatra walks beside your doctor, never in front.

Your next step

Twenty minutes, to begin.

Tell Tasneem where you are and what you want. She will tell you honestly what it will take. Nothing is decided on the call.
